Abstract EN

The Raman spectrum of N-methylacetam was recorded and its infrared spec-trum as mulls was measured in thr rang 4000-200 cm -1.

The frequencies were assigned to various fundamental modes on the basis of normal coordinate calcula- tions.

A 30-parameter modified valence force field was employed for normal coor- dinate analysis of N-methylacetamide.

A least-square technique was used to refine the force constants.

The potential energy distribution W'as also calculated.

The the absorption bands is discussed in relation (0 the mixing of vibrational آه nature .frequencies -
