Abstract EN

This presentation is an introduction to fast ion beam-laser spectroscopy applied to hyperfine structure measurements.

The technique is first described in some generality and is then specialized to recent experiments, in particular to those performed at the Uppsala isotope separator.

The effective operator formalism, developed by Sandars and Beck (1965), is described for the interpretation of the experimentally determined A and B hyperfine coupling constants.
