Abstract EN

This paper considers the Einstein-Yang-Mills equations in 3 + 1 space-time dimensions and shows how one can prove rigorously the existence of a globally-defined smooth static solution, with the associated Einstein metric being asymptotically flat and the total mass finite.

Physically this means that the Yang-Mills repulsive force can balance the gravitational attractive force and prevent the formation of singularities in space-time.
