Abstract EN
The objective of the present study is to transfer drainage data and channel network from topographic maps, aerial photos and satellite imagery directly to computer.
SURFER and other programs written in BASIC are used to perform basin calculation including perimeter, total and fractal areas and preparing hypsometric curves, topograhic contour maps, and network maps.
As an example, the automation has been applied tg Khor Baraka drainage basin in Sudan for quantitative morphological analysis.
For better quality of calculation and mapping, grid cell dimension should be optimized in the grid-ding process.
