The study showed that the epidermal layers are uniseriate and covered by a thick cuticle in TEM pictures, the cell wall appears consisting of cellulo sic microfibrils oriented alternately paral led to the long axis.

The cuticle consists of two layers the: the cuticle proper and a cuticular layer beneath it.

Deposits of epicuticular wax in the form of scaly rods were seen on the cuticle.

Plasmodesmata and primary pit fields were seen in the anticlinal and inner walls of the epidermal cells, but none was seen on the outer pancoral walls.

Stomata were only found on ab axial and they were surrounded by a group of radiating subsidiary cells, therefore they are classified as accountancy.

The study slowed significant anatomical differences between the two ta xa.

These differences were noticed in the bundle sheath, number of mesophyll spongy cells and the abundance of crystals in the bundle sheath extensions.
