Abstract EN
The correlation factors between moving average residual gravity anomalies from a buried vertical cylinder, a two-dimensional (2-D) horizontal cylinder and a sphere are computed.
Correlation values are used to determine the depth to the buried structure and its size.
The validity of the method is tested on synthetic data with random errors and on the gravity map of the Texas Humble salt dome.
