This study aims at discovering some of the effects of the Saudi Womans work on her roles as "a Mother.

house maker and a wif e.

The researcher depends on various theories.

Most important among these is the Strucrural Functional Theory in understanding the contribution of women outside the house.

The data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of about 400 Saudi working women from the governmental and nongovcmruentai establishments that include sections for women in Jcddah city.

This study produced a number of results.

Most important among these arc : having a job docs not affect negatively a womans function regarding bringing up her children, and socializing them.

As for her role as a house maker the study revealed a negative effect.

Because she has a job she is unable to cans out many of her house functions which are considered 10 be part of the natural duties of a woman in the society.

Finally.

the study shows that having a job leads to a change in her view towards the family size (regarding the number of childrenl.

Working women are interested in giving birth to a fewer number of children.
