Abstract EN

This research introduces 'Voiceprint” in Arabic.

It presents some of the significant factors that contribute to the understanding of voice- print utilization.

It dicusses three methodological techniques used in studying voiceprint.

Also it presents methods used to identify different voiceprint.

Two major uses are discussed.

This paper tries to fill a gap (though narrow) in the literature about the subject in this language.

It briefly describes what voiceprint is within the field of phonetics.The techniques used in the identification of voice- print are also explained.

Applications of voiceprint studies in the pre- vention and/or investigation of crime are discussed; illustrative exam- ples are used when appropriate.

Future research in voiceprint is needed in the fields of Law and Criminology.

Moreover, voiceprint's computer application is needed in controlling crime and criminals.
