An experimental study Of available loci aggregates has been carried Out to determine their.

physical and mechanical properties.

Concrete design mixes have been experimentally investigated to consider variable parameters relevant to the properties of Wet concrete, the strength of set concrete, the water-cement ratio, and the proportions of all-in aggregates.

Concrete specimens such as cubes, cylinders and beams have been cast and tested.

Results of ultimate strength.

splitting and tensile strength as well as modulus of rupture were re- corded.

The data obtained are discussed, and a design procedure for concrete mixes is then recommended.

The proposed method is compared With well known international mix design methods.

The relationship between the 28-day compressive strength and the water-cement ratio has been statistically evalu- ated utilizing a computer program which employs the best curve fitting of re- gression analysis.

Conclusions are drawn from this research and recommenda- tion are outlined.
