Abstract EN
The thulium nicotinate dihydrate (TmND) has the formula unit {Tm3+(C2 H4 NC02)3 Magnetization measurements in magnet- neic fields up to 12 Tesla have been done on TmND single crystals, the mag- neic field :was applied parallel and perpendicular to the a- axis, in the tem- perature range from 2 to I(I) K.
The Tm} + ions in this system produce a van VIeck paramagnetic compound.
It was found that the magnetic mo- ment per thulium ion is highly anisotropic and field dependent at lower temperatures, while it is linearly dependent on field above 20 K for the two crystallographic directions.
The initial magnetic susceptibility decreases With the increase in temperature.
Our results have a similar behavior as the magnetization of holmium nicotinate dihydrate compound,
