Abstract EN
Some soil microorganisms have the ability to nitrify ammonium and hydrolysis urea in vitro.
Streptomyces scabies and S.
[radiae were examined in vitro and in autoclaved soil for their ability to nitrify ammonium.
The results show that their ability to hydrolysis urea was the hest at 1000 jxg ml.
Sucrose as carbon source and pH 7 gave the highest rates of nitrification ofammonia, as well as increasing the amount of biomass.
