Abstract EN

Detailed electromagnetic two-dimensional analysis of the wake fields induced by the injection of an electron beam of finite length into a cold plasma is presented.

The correct zeroth first-order fields are obtained using the fourier transform technique for proposed bunched beam model.

The total induced plasma flux in the direction of the beam axis and the ratio of the transverse wakefield to the longitudinal wakefield within the beam are calculated.

The higher order constructions and their lower twins are discussed in detail
