Seventy two (7.2%) of 1000 samples of locally produced milk and dairy products were found contaminated with salmOnellae.

These samples included gaymer (8.1%), miUs (8.6%), cheese (10.3%) and kishfa (11.9%), A total of 10 serotypes were identified, with S- typhimUrium was the most, jtovafcm serotype accounting for 25% of all isolates followed.% S..

All isolates were resistant to tetracycline artd sulphajnethi- zole, while all were: sensitive to Co-trimoxaizole.

Fifty two isolates (72.2%) were resistant to three or more antibiotics and 11 patterns of antbiotics resistance were found
