Abstract EN
This research aims at studuing the unfavourable phenomenon of successive identical sounds in Arabic, and revealing ways which help in avoiding it.
In this study the researcher has discussed the authenticity of the term "successive identical sounds", the reason why it is unaccepted in Arabic, and the ways which help in avoiding it through phonetic change, omission, replacement, substition, division or assimilation.
The study also reveals that Arabic is the language of easiness and convenience.
It avoids sounds which require great effort in articulation.
It also avoids successive identical sounds, simply because articulating two identical sounds successively either in the one word or in two successive words causes difficulty in the one speech as well as an increase in the exerted effort in articulation.
