Abstract EN

This is the first attempt to edit Al-SuyuC's treaties; "al-Sawa iq ala al-Nawaciq.

This treaties is considered a real picture of Al-Suyufi, Ihs thought, personality, science and conflicts with his op¬ponents at his time.

This paper is divided into two sections.

The first section handles the life of Ai-Suyuti drawn on a number of references that been rarely used by few scholars.

It also includes the reasons that motivated Al-Suyu.fi to write this book.

These reasons include his fame among his students, his various works in different sciences, his claim Of being the most knowledgeable person of his time.

His thoughts were subject to criticism by some of his contemporaries.

In this treaties he respond¬ed to those critics.

Moreover, his authorities have been limited in different fields: Art, History, Hadith, Commentaries (on the Karan) and Fiqh.

All of these sciehes reflect his profound thinking, vast background, and his scientific approach.

The second section is the edition of Al-SawaCiqtext (Literary, thunderstrikes).

The writer based his study on two manuscripts of the same text: those of El-Escorial and Yale University.

Quotations, some traditions of the prophet, verses of poetry and other people's sayings have been traced back to their original sources.
