Abstract EN

An exergy analysis is applied on processes which may be used for producing hydrogen from natural gas.

The processes include four subsystems: steam-methane reforming process, water-gas shift reaction process and two CO2 removal units.

A computer model has been formulated for this purpose.

The model determines the exergy loss which occurs in each process.

The calculations are repeated for different operating conditions such as temperature, pressure and steam-methane ratio.

The variation of exergy losses with these variables are known.

From the generated data several mathematical models are proposed.
