Abstract EN
A comparative study had been conducted to explore the effect of using thermal insulation or a secondary concentrator on the overall efficiency of the parabolic dish solar furnace.
Experimental data under different climate conditions including wind speed, abmient temperature, and solar radiation had been collected.
Results demonstrate that the use of a secondary concentrator can improve the efficiency more than the use of thermal insulation in the rarige of the temperatures attained during the experiment.
This improvment is substantial at the relatively low temperature and starts to fall at higher temperatures.
