Abstract EN

The sccrctory units are compound tubuloacinar.

The servous acini predominate over the mucous type.

Some of the latter acini are capped by demilunes of serous cells.

The mucous acini are either evenly distributed among the serous ones or they aggre- gate in certain lobules.

Intcrcal lated and striated ducts are well developed.

The lining epithelium of inerlobular ducts is ranging from simple colmnar to pseudostratified or stratified columnar depending upon the size of the duct.

Goblet cells are present in the epithelial lining of large intraglandular ducts and they increase in number in that of the extaglandular duct.
