Abstract EN
Privet trees (Ligustrum vulgare L.) used as a hedge were treated with various concentrations of cultar as a soil drench twice in 1988.
The results indicated that all cultar treatments in the year of application caused a significant reduction in shoot length, in-temode length, leaf area and dry weight of the trimmed shoots.
The redulction became more pronounced at the second and third trimming dates during the first year of application, however, its influence continued during the second year of application, at a lower rate.
It is concluded that cultar might he used to partially substitute for the continuous, laborious and expensive trimming of privet.
