Abstract EN
The third eat of berseem (Trifolium) made hay by three different methods: ground, treated with 1.5% potassium carbonate (K2CO3), and tripods.
Results showed that both the tripod methods and chemical treatment with K2CG3 were superior than the traditional method which is the ground cured one.
The highest losses in diferent nutrients were found in ground cured hay.
The hay making by tripod method was of better quality than that made by the other two methods.
The DGP and TDN for tripod hay were 11 and 66%, respectively, while the corresponding figures for ground cured hay and potassium carbonate treated hay were: (10.5.
61.6%) and (9.9, 60.9%).
respectively.
