The magnetic properties of Y1-XSmxBa2Cu3O7(O X-ray diffraction measurements |how that the cofnp^unc|s have an orthorhombic strucutre. The magnetic shielding curves show no signifi-cant change in Tc. The hysteresis loopi for the compounds have been measured and the critical state model was used to estimate the magneti-zation critical current.
