A mathmatical model to describe the tomographic image reconstruction using property of duality

Abstract EN

A new mathematical model to describe an image reconstruction method from an object immersed in homogeneous medium is investigated.

An original mathematical method is based on the functiohaf principle, that the scattered electromagnetic field is a function of the volumtric distribution of equivelent currents inside the object.

The improved function described here provides a powerful-analytical means for solving the wave equation and gives a realistic description hi microwave regions.

The adaptation of the function techniques to numerical method solution is illustrated.

Finally, this model exhibits the property of duality which means that it is possible to pass from one equation to another by suitable interchange of dual quantities (electric and magentic qualities).

The basis for a very simple numerical procedure for the solution of the tomographic image is also included.

In order to test this mathematical model the image of a dielectric prismoid was obtained from calculated scattered field.
