Abstract EN

The critical straihs necessary to nucleate recrystallisation during the tensile deformation of the Nb bearing steel have been invssVgated in the temperature range 900 -1150 °C andstrain rate range 3x 10"*-3x 10"* S'1.

it was found that the strains at the onset of dynamic recrystallisation (DR) decreases with increasing test temperature of deformation and decreasing strain rate.

The effects of test conditions on the onset of DR are discussed in terms of energy input to the steel and the grain boundary sliding process.
