Abstract EN
Line interference is a major concern when designing a beat-to-beat detection system of cardiac microvolt potentials.
In this paper, a theoretical model showing how line interference corrupts the desired cardiac microvolt potentials is presented.
Consequently, various practical techniques and procedures to reduce such interference are presented and discussed.
To reduce the common component of line interference, ali the standard precautions used when designing an ECG machine are necessary.
In addition, the necessity of careful choice of electronic components, circuit construction and screening are emphasised, In the case of the differential component, the importance of vigrous skin rubbing is also illustrated.
