Abstract EN
The paper deals with the triaxial strength of reinforced soil.
Two types of reinforcements were used to reinforce focal river sand.
The behaviour of the sand and its improvement obtained by the addition of reinforcement were examined.
The effect of silt content on the strength was also investigated.
The results showed that the geosynthetic is more beneficial than the wiremesh reinforcement.
In both cases the degree of improvement was increased by increasing the number of reinforcing layers.
An optimum silt content of 25% was found useful! in increasing the strength of the soil.
