Growth rate of some cucumber cultivars under hydroponic culture

T hre e c ulti va rs , i.«., Picobe llo , Horr ac o and Ma ram were used to evaluat e th ei r growth ra te and yie ld under hydroponic syst em, Varieti es did not vary signi ficantly in e ithe r plant height or le af number.

Th e height decrea sed in both 31-\ and 45 days fro m planting and th en increased till 52 day s old, The correlat ion co e fficient was found as r = 0 ,91-\ for al l culrivars.

The av erage yield/ plant ran ge d from 3 ,30 kg/plant fo r Mararn to 3,1-\2 kg/ plan t for Picobcl lo cultivar.

Maram cultivar produced the highest dr y ma tter foll ow ed by Hortaco and Picohcll o .

respectively , Similar trend was found fo r tot al yie ld/m e, In hydroponi c .
