Abstract EN
The absorption and fluorescence of five anisic acid isomers in aqueous solution without and with the presence of fl-Cyclodextrin (P-CD) are reported.
The effect of pH and the concentration of P-CD are studied and found that the optimum pH and P-CD concentration are 3.3 and 0.02M respectively.
The absorption and fluorescence characterisitcs of these isomers, the stability of the inclusion complexes formed, and the possibility of determining one isomer in the presence of another are also presented.
A comparison between the fluorescence characteristics of these isomers in aqueous P-CD solution and chloroform is made and proved that the presence of P-CD enhances the fluorescence significantly.
