Analysis of error detection and correction codes used in RAMs

Abstract EN

In this paper different error detection and correction codes (methods) used for detecting and correcting errors in computer’s memory and in information transfer are studied.

These methods are compared as for their detection and correction capabilities, hardware requirements, redundancy, speed and efficiency.

Moreover, the paper includes different ways of structural implementation of these methods either separetely or in combination with other methods used for increasing the memory reliability such as hardware and time redundancy methods.
