In this paper we lest the hypothesis Ha :A =vs Hj A vs H : A = A1, A> Awhere A is inherent availability of a system for which time-to-failure and time-to-re pair are independent random variables having gamma distributions.
Also we construct 100(1-a)% confidnece interval for A.
The one-to-one correspondence between availability and the ratio of mean time-to-re pair and mean time-to-failurc was used to obtain a statistic upon which the confidence interval and the test of Ha vs H1 can be based.
