Abu Abdallah Hisham Ibn Mu’awiyah the Mind, was a well - known Arab Grammerian.

He wrote many books.

but unfortunately all of them were lost and what remained scattered opinions that could be found in other grammerian books.

The present student has tried to gather his scattered grammatical views and has studied them in order to identify him among the two schools of grammer: AI-Basriyyah and Al-Kuftyyah.

The research has led the present student to classify him neither of those two schools but as an independent grammerian who used to benefit from what was available without forgetting his personal judgment.

This paper, f hope, wiU approve that Hisham the blind was a unique grammerian who paved the way for a new school of grammer, namely, the Baghdadian School.

Moreover much attention was paid to the participation of Hisham the blind in interpretation of Quran and other (inguistica! probtesms.
