This article deals with a Muslim's reflections on certain derogatory observations in Carlyle's On Heroes.

Hero-Worship and the Heroie in History.

It endeavours to give a bird's eve view of Carlyle's philosophic thoughts and religious idealism which he imbibed from Novalis, Richter and Fichte, and how he digressed from a deeply-rooted Christian creed.

Further, it gives an analysis of how he struggled helplessly to regain his faith in God, in life and in himself.

It confutes his conviction that the sincerity and morality of the Vates - Poets and Prophets - are still a guide for the faithless, fickle and sceptical generation.

His mention of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as an example of Vates - Prophets is refuted.

hisdiatribe against Islam, the Qur'an and the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is challenged and his comparison of Shakespeare with Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is proved to be crass stupidity.
