Abstract EN
This paper presents techniques for writing in a foreign language which depend on the process approach.
Strategies for encouraging students to write more efficiently in a non-native language are described.
They include assigning relevant and challenging topics, treating writing as a process, and responding to and evaluating student writing in a more constructive way.
The described techniques can be applied at any level to improve the students’ fluency, clarify their ideas and reinforce their grammatical structures in the second language.
Hie approach described in this article is a conclusion of a person?! experience used with fresh English majors at Mu’tah University.
The average age of the students is about IS years old, and their proficiency in English is the average of the Tawjihi (high school) graduates in Jordan.
