لقد وجد أن الطرح الخضري اليومي لموقعين من المانجروف في رأس غلاب و المضاية بمنطقة جيزان الواقعة في الساحل الجنوبي السعودي من البحر الأحمر يبلغ 2, 87 و 3, 37 جرام \ وزن جاف على التوالي خلال الفترة ما بين يونيو 1986 م و مايو 1987 م و هو يقارب ما وجد أخرى من المانجروف في العالم.
و بشكل علم فقد وجد أن مستوى الطرح الخضري في الموقعين السابقي الذكر تقريبا ثابت على مدار العام، مع زيادة نسبية خلال فصل الصيف.
يشكل الطرح الورقي النسبة العظمى لمجموع الطرح الخضري مع ازدياد ملحوظ في نسبة المكونات التكاثرية خلال فصل الصيف فقط.
Abstract EN
Average daily productions of litter in mangroves of two localities, Ras Ghallab and Midaya in Jizan region of southern part of Saudi Arabian Red Sea coast, were 2.87 and 3.37 gdry wt m 2 day1, respectively, during June 1986 - May 1987 and were comparable with other productive mangrove areas of the world.
In general, the level of production remained more or less the same throughout the year in both localities except for summer season when it was relatively higher.
Leaves contributed overwhelmingly to the total litter and reproductive parts becoming significant only during summer.
