Abstract EN

- The study was carried out to investigate the role of adrenergic innervation on thymic lymphopoiesis.

Host animals were bilaterally sym-pathectomised and 13-day fetal thymic rudiments were implanted surgically within the anterior eye chambers.

On one side, a piece of freshly removed sympathetic ganglion from a newly born synginate animal was placed adjacent to the thymic implant.

The implants were grown for 6 weeks.

The results of the study indicate that the thymic grafts grown with the ganglia are re-innervated from the ganglia and that this innervation inhibits thymic lymphopoiesis.
