Abstract EN

Emergency calls for help usually arise in a random fashion where service units, police cars or ambulance, have to be dispatched to answer these calls.

This paper deals with the distribution of distances between the arisen call and the service unit in the case of uniformly distributed calls in a rectangular region where the service unit is either stationed at the center of the region or moving throughout the region.

Two modes of travel are considered, direct travel, like the one of a helicopter, and right-angle travel, like the one of an ambulance.
