This paper consists of three main parts: first, the concept and the movements of Appropriate Technology (AT); second, the concept and the movement of Community Development (CD), and third, the relationship between them in terms of concepts and movements.

In addition, an attempt is made to find out whether AT and CD complement or conflict with each other.
