Traffic safety in Jordan has been put Into debate in the last few yean.

A high percentage of the citizens still think that the country is ranked among the most dangerous countries in the world.

This study has traced the development of traffic safety in Jordan during the last two decades (1970-1989), and evaluated these developments.

This was achieved by examining changes in accident rate over time and comparing their development rate with those in Middle Eastern and developing countries.

It is concluded from the study that safety levels in Jordan are among the best in the Middle Eastern and developing countries.

The traffic safety development rate in the country is significantly high.
