This research points out the approach of Emam Al-Shaf’i concerning the contradictory Hadiths.

The approach may reconcile between these Hadiths, as possible be which is the first method used by Al-Shaf’i; he may regard the latter and disregard the former; he may regard the strongest and disregard the weakest; or he may disregard the narrator’s saying if it contradicts the true Hadith.
