The objective of this study is to explore the impact of some demographic variables (i.e.
marital status, income level, occupational status and age) on women’s perception of risk in Jordan.
The study sample consisted of 328 women.
It has been selected from the various Jordanian cities and towns and according to a certain conditions set for this study.
It was hypothesized that women’s perception of risk will varyas their marital statuses, income levels, occupational statuses, and age categories vary.
The study showed the following results: First, married women appear to perceive less risk - high risk takers-as compared to divorced women.
Second, women with a higher occupational statuses appear to perceive less risk as compared to those with lower occupational statuses.
Third, women from older age categories appear to perceive more risk - low risk-takers - as compared to those from younger age categories.
Fourth, income did not appear to affect significantly women’s perception of risk.
Finally, conclusions, applications, and directions for future research were discussed in this study.
