A new equaiion for the heat transfer coefficient was developed by comparing the experimental data to the numerical solution of the heal balance equations for both rice and air.

A comparison was made between the Wang el at.

equation and the equation developed in this research.

The latter equation was used in the simulation of the concurrent-flow rice dryer.
