Abstract EN

The advantages of fuzzy logic controllers over conventional controllers are that they do not require an accurate mathematical model, can work with imprecise inputs, can handle non-linearity and are more robust than conventional PI controllers.

With the development of Type 2 Fuzzy logic controllers (Type-2 FLC) and their ability to handle uncertainty, utilizing Type-2 FLC has attracted a lot of significance in recent years.

It is an extension of the concept of well-known ordinary fuzzy sets, Type-1 fuzzy sets.

The membership functions of Type-2 fuzzy sets are three dimensional and include a footprint of Uncertainty (FOU), which is the new third dimension of Type-2 fuzzy sets.

The footprint of uncertainty provides an additional degree of freedom to handle uncertainties.

To carry out this analysis, active and reactive current (Id-Iq) control strategy is chosen.

The proposed SHAF with different T2FLC M.Fs is able to eliminate the uncertainty in the system.

By using different T2FLC M.Fs, SHAF gains outstanding compensation abilities.

To validate the proposed approach, adequate results are reported for its verifications.

This article is organized as follows.

Section 1 introduces the role and advantages of Type-1 and Type-2 Fuzzy logic controller (FLC); Section 2 provides the structure of Type-1 and Type-2 FLC; Section 3 provides the details; Section 4 provides the details of Block diagram of FLC; Section 5 provides the details of Design of control Rules and Membership Functions; Type-1 and Type-2 Fuzzy inference systems; Section 6 provides the details of Defuzzification Methods; section 7 provides simulation results, and finally Section 8 states all concluding remarks.-
