English Abstract

Densities and refractive indices have been experimentally determined for binary liquid mixture (glucose-water) with different concentrations (0.05%–0.45%) at the temperature range 20–50oC using six wavelengths (400-700nm).

The refractive indices were measured at the required temperatures with the thermo stated highly précised Abbes refractometer.

A comparative study has been reported for glucose / water different concentration between Lorentz –Lorentz (LL), Gladstone-dale (GD), wiener (W) and Cauchy equations (C) for predicting the refractive index of the majority solar wave lengths.

The molar refraction was calculated from Lorentz-Lorenz equation.

The extinction coefficient was calculated by measuring the optical absorption of glucose solutions.

Polarizabilities of glucose - water solutions were calculated by Lorentz-Lorenz equation.

The optical rotation was also measured for all concentrations of glucose-water liquid mixture using polarimeter.
