Abstract EN

The present study is intended to compare English and Arabic in the area of postpositive adjectives in order to find out the points of similarity and the difference in both languages.

In this study, the researchers adopt the approach of 'contrastive analysis' since we have two languages under comparison.

Therefore, three steps are followed in doing so, i.

e., (i) description of the two languages, (ii) selection of certain areas for detailed comparison and (iii) comparison, i.

e., identification of points of similarity and difference. The researchers hypothesize that Arabic shows more difficulty and confusion than English in the field of postpositive adjectives and there are more differences than similarities.
