Abstract EN

The aim of this study to identify the role of scientific conferences in the activation of research culture among students in higher education and the most important factors influencing the participation of the students in the annual scientific conference.

The sample of the study consist of (123) students in University of Ha’il.

The researcher builds a questionnaire to measure the factors affecting the research activities and the students’ participation.

The questionnaire consist (30) questions distributed over three dimensions: Personal dimension, supporting logistics, and constraints.

stability coefficient was calculated, the value of reliability coefficient equals to (0.87).

The researcher interviewed (60) of faculty members to find their opinions about the University's efforts in activization of the research culture and the student participants .

The study results reveal a decline in the motivation of students to participate in research activities.

Also, the results find a decline in the level of support and logistics services provided by the University to promote research culture among the students.

The study also show that there is a marked increase in the presence of obstacles that hinder the students’ engagement in research activities, and participation in scientific conferences.

Based on the results of the study, the researcher suggest some major mechanisms proposed to activate the role of the University of Ha'il in activating the research culture and promoting the student participation.
