English Abstract
This thesis presents to design microstrip bandpass filter using a Stepped Impedance Resonators (SIR) which are widely used to simulate bandpass filters.
These filters have been designed with coupling feeding technologies.
The designed filters depend basically on the proposed prototype filter design which is based on dual-mode single band microstrip bandpass.
The prototype was obtained by folding the SIR sections for the purpose of filter structure miniaturization.
This filter was printed on a substrate of relative dielectric constant 4.4 and a thickness of 1.5mm.
Three techniques are used for current perturbation based on the simulated current distributions on the surfaces of the proposed dual mode single band filter structure to excite the degenerate modes at the desired frequency of operation.
Adding a small patch at the inner corners of the resonator, cutting slots at the feeding structures and adding stubs with suitable dimension leads to an excitation of another frequency band and enhance the original band performance of the filter response.
The proposed filters covers the bands used for Bluetooth, Advanced Wireless Services (AWS), ISM, and WLAN applications.
The simulation results are obtained and optimized using a commercial electromagnetic simulator Computer Simulation Technology (CST).
