English Abstract

Demand for induction cooker is increasing day-by-day in the field of traditional heating systems, due to its inherent advantages.

Induction cookers for domestic application are normally operating at high frequency.

As a result the coils suffer from skin effect and proximity-effect losses.

The litz-wire constructions are found to be more suitable to remove those two effects.

At high frequencies, the behavior of planar windings becomes more dependent on frequency.

Knowing, the impedance (inductance and resistance ) of induction cooker is very important task for the designers and producers.

Therefore, to study the performance of induction cooker, one should adopt theories of electromagnetic field which is created by the planar coil for various types of wire (solid, and litz wire).

In the second stage, the factors affecting the inductance are discussed in detail, the algorithms of the work and operation procedure are presented, which show the use of these algorithms.

In addition, some definitions and guidelines are established, which form the basis to design a planar winding for two types of wires.

In this research, a supplement of previous work about induction cooker was done, it is achieved by finding inductance of induction cooker in order to calculate its impedance (magnitude and direction ) by using of equations of the previous work to calculate resistance in order to add to inductance.

Analytical model has been adopted for deriving the equivalent inductance of planar coil, for each type of wire in the case of presence or absence of load (vessel cooking).

Two types of effective cooking pot were taken into consideration: cooking pot made from magnetic material and other made from non-magnetic material.

The MATLAB program has been employed in this work and the validity of obtained results were checked by comparison with other works.
