English Abstract

The Space-Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) techniquehas become a popularpulse width modulation technique forthree-phase voltagesource inverters in the speed control ofmachine drive.

In this work, investigation performance of space vector PWM inverter fed induction motor under fault conditionsare presented.

The common faults occurred in the power switches of Space Vector PWM bridge inverter, such as; open transistor, misfiring transistor, short circuit transistor and open leg of one branch,These faults are implemented and proposed with the help of PSIM software package.

The time and frequency domain analysis has been used to compare and analysis different faults operation in SVPWM inverter.The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the output voltage and current is calculated from the frequency response.

Replacing IM with R-L load and gets experimental and simulation results with three cases (healthy, open MOSFET and misfiring)and calculate THD results.

A simple equation is used to find theTotal Harmonic Distortion regulation (ΔTHD) of Total HarmonicDistortion (THD) between faulty and healthy state to show the useful fault information.

An obtained resultsshowthat the model is accurate, applicable and show good identification, information and diagnostic rules for the different faults.

This study helps for the fault nature, detection and localization.
