English Abstract
Quality is the symbol of human civilization, and with the progress of human civilization, quality control will play an incomparable role in business.
It can be said that if there is no quality control, there is no economic benefit.
Construction projects are an extremely complex process, involving a wide range. This study evaluated the quality control status in Jordanian construction projects and identifies the relationship between quality control related factors and engineering defects. There are plenty of factors affecting the quality of construction, because of the fixed project location, large volume and different projects environments, the poor control of these factors may produce quality problems. After statistical analysis for the collected data by a questionnaire, the study illustrate that the realistic state of quality control in construction projects in Jordan is considered as (weak). The study also shows that the following quality control related factors (design, Cost, Communication, Safety, Monitor and Administrative) have a relationship with engineering defects, while (Time, Team Work and Document & Information Availability) don’t have a statistical relationship with the engineering defects. The study also provides general recommendations to improve quality control status in the construction projects in Jordan.
A computerized questionnaire program was then developed to evaluate a quality control status in construction projects and determine the proportion of engineering defects in construction projects.
The program shows a group of necessary recommendations in case of weak results.
