English Abstract

The highway Construction companies are heavily dependent on their construction equipment in constructing the projects.

These equipment represent large capital investment by these companies, they need a sophisticated and detailed site recording, monitoring, and control system to assist the project management in managing these equipment efficiency.

From this reason the aim of this research is came out under the title; “Developing a Site Management System for Construction Equipment of Highway Projects in Jordan”.

The research hypothesis has been set as; “There is a lack of having an efficient site management system for recording, monitoring and controlling the construction equipment on highway projects in Jordan".

According to this hypothesis, the research objective proposed a main site system to construction equipment.

Field survey has been conducted to evaluate the current management system which is applied on the highway project site, depending on previous literature review a knowledge base for this survey.

The statistical analyses of the field survey responses have identified the main efficiency points in the existed management system and approved the research hypothesis.

A suggested site management system, is created to record, monitor, and controls the usage of construction equipment in highway projects in Jordan and to improve the deficiency in existed system.

The research concluded that there is misunderstanding of the system by the project managers, engineers, as well as, the head office staff.

It also concluded that the proposed main system and its two sub-systems will improve the site management of current equipment highway projects in Jordan.
