Abstract EN
During the past few years, it has been shown that Ca ++ plays an essential role in the control of ciliary beat and cell motility and it has been suggested that the ciliary membrane modulates the internal Ca++ level in cilia and flgellat The present work de montrates that the motjlty), of Dunaliella biflagellate .
- green algae, remains constant during 15 days in a ca ++ freem-eduin.This result suggests that large .
intracellular reserves of Ca++ could be mobilized by Dunaliella to control its motility .
Pyroantimonate detection technic followed by X-ray microanalysis show that these reserves are localized in large intracellular vesicles and could be involved in control of the ciliary beat in Dunaliella .
